One of the UK’s leading manufacturers who specialise in the extrusion, print and conversion of polythene bags for multiple industry sectors, are looking for a talented Business Development Manager with a proven track record of winning new business and account management within the manufacturing sector to join their team of other highly skilled and friendly account managers.
This BRC accredited company was established in 1995 and prides itself on delivering the highest quality products suited to customer needs, serving varying industry sectors including Specialist trade manufacturers, Food Processing, Industrial & Pharmaceutical/Medical.
Job Profile
The requirement for a Business Development Manager has arisen through continued growth, expansion and demand in both customer base and orders. The Business Development Manager will have a real focus on winning new business as well as managing existing customer accounts and relationships. As such, the successful person must have proven and demonstrable experience in a similar role within manufacturing. The role will be interesting and varied with no one day being the same and will suit someone with a dynamic and adaptable nature as well as having strong attention to detail and with a drive to succeed and achieve targets. This role will be office based and the successful candidate must be prepared and able to travel into Derby every day. They will also need to be prepared to travel and visit clients throughout the UK as required.
Primary responsibilities
* Identifying new business opportunities, creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities.
* Building relationships with new and existing clients, gauging their needs and creating proposals, quotes and prices to address these needs.
* Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients.
* Communicating with clients clearly and addressing their concerns, resolving any issues or conflicts are they arise, and managing expectations appropriately.
* Create sales forecasts and proactively work towards them reaching them.
* Liaising with and building strong relationships suppliers and internal departments.
* Use of internal bespoke software to provide quotes and pricing for customers.
* Order processing.
Skill/Experience
* Proven and demonstrable experience in a similar role within manufacturing is essential.
* Able to identify and win new business opportunities.
* Ability to maintain and develop relationships with multiple existing clients.
* Be able to communicate with clients clearly and addressing their concerns, resolving any issues or conflicts are they arise, and managing expectations appropriately.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks at a time.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload is essential.
* Able to interpret information and data in different formats and layouts.
* Strong mathematical acumen.
* Able to think on feet and adapt in an ever changing and fast paced environment.
* A drive to succeed and achieve targets.
Hours:
* Mon – Friday, 9am to 5.30pm
*You may be required to work additional hours when authorised and as necessitated by the needs of the business
