The Company

A highly established, dynamic and friendly events business with many fast growing portfolios seeks an Exhibition and Sponsorship Sales Manager.

Our client is an innovative B2B events business operating across many different sectors including the aviation technology industry, where they create events for like-minded peers to gain inspiration, learn and do business. Their conferences are major industry gatherings focusing on strategy, innovation and technology and their trade exhibitions are marketplaces for global business.

The role of Exhibition & Sponsorship Sales Manager

As Exhibition & Sponsorship Sales Manager you will be responsible for selling exhibition space into a large and already market-leading exhibition which is growing rapidly as the industries is serves has exploded in recent years. Our client offers a mature working environment with a real focus on revenue generated rather than on strict KPI’s. Your role will be split into 2 major functions. Three days a week you will be selling commercial opportunities around the expo, primarily to new businesses, although every client that you win, you will keep. The other two days of your working week will be taken up selling conference sponsorship opportunities on a small number of high profile conferences. It is therefore a really nice and varied role and whilst you will be 100% new business to begin with, over time you will get more of a balance between new business and account management.

Clients that you will be selling to vary from manufacturers of components, through to retailers (like Amazon) and tech firms like Google and Nvidia.

There is also an element of international travel with the role and you are expected to attend competitor events globally to build your network.

As you may not come from an exhibition sales background our client will provide extensive training to get you up to speed on their sales process and portfolio.

Requirements for the role of Exhibition & Sponsorship Sales Manager

  • Preferably experience selling exhibitions, sponsorship or delegate packages
  • Recruitment consultant experience considered
  • Strong at new business phone selling
  • Confident and driven individual
  • Experience selling to C-level executives
  • Can excel in a high-performing sales culture
