Assistant Buyer

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Support the Buyer in sourcing and purchasing materials and services at competitive prices, ensuring timely delivery to meet project deadlines.
* Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and assist in identifying new suppliers, ensuring they meet our quality and compliance standards.
* Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
* Monitor and track costs against budgets, ensuring procurement activities align with financial objectives.
* Assist in managing inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained for ongoing projects and anything placed in storage.
* Coordinate the scheduling of hired-in and owned plant equipment, monitoring cost effectiveness of plant hire and ensuring all bought plant is maintained and accurate records are kept.
Aside from the opportunity this company and division in particular are very good at developing their staff and offer those who want it, progression into more senior level capacities.
