Montpelier High School are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to cover lessons during the short term absence of the normal teacher who will have set suitable work for the duration. The role of the Cover Supervisor is to supervise the class whilst they complete tasks set by the teacher. This requires no marking or planning but does require active supervision and delivery of the information provided by the teacher or Head of Department. When not covering lessons, you may be asked to do project work set by the school.
The successful candidate will:
• Be educated to a high standard with a minimum GCSE grade C in English and mathematics (or equivalent qualifications) or NVQ Level 2
• Recent experience of working in a school in a similar role.
• Ability to communicate and relate to staff, students and parents alike
• Ability to effectively use ICT to support learning, or to undertake training to do so.
• Understanding of behaviour management strategies.
