Job summary

We have an opporunity for someone to join our team in the Cardiac Cath Labs and Day Ward as Band 3 Ward Administrator. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated person, preferably with clerical and admin experience to join our growing workforce. We have 6 cardiac cath labs, 8 day case beds, 5 radial chairs and 4 brand new recovery beds. You will be supported by a visible cath lab leadership team to help you achieve essential skills and competencies.

Hammersmith Hospital is ICHT's specialist hospital based in East Acton and renowned for its strong research connections. It offers a range of services including renal, haematology, cancer and cardiology care, and provides the regional specialist heart attack centre.

Main duties of the job

Ward Administrators are integral members of the department and will be directly working with the wider multidisciplinary team in delivering high quality and safe administrative aspects of our intra-procedural care for patients receiving cardiac diagnostics and interventional procedures. Part of your working day will be making sure our elective patients are received and admitted on the Day Ward, liaising with Cardiology scheduling team any issues pertaining to patient bookings or cancellations.

You will be working with another clerical/admin person in the team, so opportunities for a flexible working is available to make sure we have required cover across our operational hours. You will also have opportunities to upskill and take on extended roles supporting the unit through departmental procurement administrative work, as needed.

Our ward administrator will have a breadth of knowledge across the patient journey from scheduling to admission, and discharge providing holistic and person centred administrative support on our patient.

You are expected to be professionally accountable for own actions and to work within the guidelines, policies and procedures of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

You will support our nursing team and cath lab management to ensure that the needs of our patients are placed at the centre of our service delivery.

Educated to GCSE or equivalent including English Language and Maths with evidence of numeracy and literacy skills.

NVQ level 3 customer service OR relevant experience
