Higher Level Teaching Assistant Position at Ealing School

Full-Time Long-Term Opportunity

The school is looking for a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide dedicated support for the KS3 and KS4 curriculum, specifically focusing on students with SEN. In partnership with the SENCO, the chosen candidate will have the chance to develop and deliver structured executive functioning and organizational programs, initiatives for anxiety/anger management, strategies for therapy reinforcement, as well as programs for Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language. Previous experience in supporting students with autism or high anxiety levels is essential for this role.

Responsibilities for Successful Candidates:

  • Collaborate with the SENCO, ARC Manager, and Pastoral Manager to enhance the achievement of specific student groups
  • Coordinate an additional nurture course for students needing more support than Level 5 TAs
  • Assist teachers in delivering the KS3 and KS4 in-class curriculum to students with SEN
  • Ensure effective communication between Learning & Inclusion, ARC, and other stakeholders
  • Serve as the lead TA for up to 6 students
  • Model best practices from the EEF guidance 'Making Best Use of Teaching Assistants' for the TA team and teachers
  • Provide support to students individually or in small groups
  • Assist with healthcare, first aid, and personal needs as required
  • Take on general responsibilities within the ARC/Learning & Inclusion team

Qualifications:

Recent experience working with secondary school students and prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar position

Requirements:

Experience working with autistic students with high levels of anxiety
