We are now looking for a
Head of CRM (Reader Revenue) to join the Digital Reader Revenue (DRR) team.

Reporting into the Director of CRM & Engagement this is an opportunity to play a key role in the DRR leadership team.

It's an exciting time for the DRR team and in this role you will be responsible for a key pillar of our ambitious Reader Revenue strategy.


You'll play a key role in maximising the revenue we generate from known audiences, across existing readers and customers on both Web, App and Newsletters.

Furthermore, the role will also be responsible for delivering campaigns to our known audiences, for example on climate journalism and in 2024, the US election

About the Role

  • Primarily responsible to set CRM monetisation strategy & oversee its delivery across The Guardian's known audiences (signed in / registered users), across Web, App and Newsletters.
  • Manage a team of 5 people who are responsible for acquisition, upsell/crosssell and lapsed program as well as delivering our marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with the Commercial department to set ambitious financial targets to deliver the Digital Reader Revenue annual budget and make sure the team understands and achieves them
  • Work closely with Data and Product teams to leverage our first party data to create propensity targeting models and oversee their implementation in CMT to drive revenue at scale across new users and existing customers

About You

  • You will be able to demonstrate solid experience and proven track record in revenue generating roles in marketing teams and CRM (preferably but not essentially via Braze).
  • Ideally we are looking for someone with previous experience in either acquisition, upsell/cross sell marketing, loyalty programs and performance marketing.
  • You'll have previous experience in managing medium sized teams with experience across CRM, Paid performance and partner management (including agencies).
