An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 6 Professional Development Mental Health Facilitator.


We are looking for a dynamic & experienced Mental Health Nurse and Clinical Educator to support the education, training and development of our colleagues in Mental Health Care within the Medical Assessment Unit at Royal Derby Hospital.


You will support the clinical workforce in the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) in the care of patients with mental health needs.

Work with other members of the inter-professional health care team to develop clinical practice and support the delivery of excellent care for this group of patients.


This is a dual role comprising of clinical assessments of patients (of working age and older persons) and liaising with the Multidisciplinary Team and external agencies to support patients to receive appropriate care and treatments.

Alongside this, facilitation of educational opportunities for the staff within the unit, and supporting them to care for and manage their patients with complex mental health needs.


As part of the Medical Assessment Unit education team you will support new staff through orientation and induction, support existing staff with on-going training, including the delivery of mandatory & essential to role training, collaborate with the Multi-disciplinary Team to develop and deliver evidence based educational programs in relation to mental health & wellbeing.


Working in depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the ability to advocate for their patients and facilitate appropriate care planning from their assessments.
