We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Compass team in Bakewell. As a key member of our Mental Health Support Team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health support to children and young people in educational settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing issues
- Support designated senior mental health leads in each setting
- Provide timely advice to school and college staff and parents as required
We are looking for an individual with a core professional qualification relevant to mental health, such as CWP, IAPT, PMHW, nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disability nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or a Professional qualification relevant to mental health CBT therapist. You will also have evidence of continued professional development.
Desirable qualifications include a teaching qualification, Youth Mental Health First Aid training, and a Therapeutic postgraduate qualification (preferably in CBT).
Essential experience includes knowledge of educational environments, safeguarding issues, capacity and consent issues, and experience of working with children and young people, their families, and others. You will also have experience of working and liaising with a wide variety of agencies and stakeholders, as well as experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional, and/or behavioural difficulties.
Desirable experience includes knowledge of the functional operation of specialist Children and Young People's Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing services teams, experience of working with children and their families in a healthcare setting, and experience of navigating complex social systems and environments.
