Summary of Position:


The Society of Will Writers are looking for an Advisor to join their Technical Advice Team within their head office in Lincoln on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

The Technical Advice Team provide prompt and well-researched advice to members of The Society of Will Writers to assist them in the preparation of Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney.


The successful applicant will have recent experience in will writing and related estate planning work or will have completed a Law degree and have obtained a minimum of a 2:1 with the Law of Succession taken as an optional module.

Applicants who are studying towards or have completed the STEP Certificate in Trusts and Estates or other similar qualifications will also be considered.

Full training on the use of the Technical Team's research tools and will drafting software will be provided.

A high-level understanding of wills and trusts is essential, as is good presentation and research skills.

Primary responsibilities:

  • To provide technical responses to member's (full member) queries
  • To assist in the provision of training to aspiring will writers
  • To write regular industryrelevant articles for the Society's blog and newsletter
  • To provide support to users of the drafting software Sure Will Writer
  • To be a port of call on the telephone where necessary to provide backup support to the membership team
  • To carry out will checks
  • Other such jobs as requested and agreed

Job Type:
Temporary contract
