We believe SynBio has the potential to transform sustainable food production, but high production costs and long R&D timelines are a huge barrier to change.

That's why we founded New Wave Biotech – we develop software that uses computational modelling to conduct virtual experimentation on billions of potential processes, to help sustainable alt protein companies optimise their production for cost, quality and sustainability.

We're now hiring a Bioprocess Engineer to join our team to develop our platform and help us accelerate our growth.

The Role

As a Bioprocess Engineer, you'll work closely with our Bioprocess Engineering Lead and software development team to:nDevelop and improve mechanistic and data-driven models for key unit operationsnHelp scope and refine new features from the details of membrane dynamics to modelling entire unit operationsnSupport the development team with bioprocessing expertise, from parameter ranges to new product feature designnProvide engineering support and insight in customer meetings

Job requirements

Required qualifications:
nMaster's or Bachelor's degree in biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, process engineering, biotechnology or related fieldn- 3 years industrial bioprocessing experience, ideally specialising in downstream purificationnKnowledge and application of different process modelling technologies such as Aspen Plus, SuperPro Designer, gPROMS or GoSiliconExperience using software such as Matlab or PythonnKnowledge of, or desire to learn about protein production processes, especially in the alt protein/food space
