Job Summary:
We're looking for a dedicated Key Stage 3 Class Teacher to join our team.
The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality education to students with diverse needs, foster a positive learning environment, and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support student progress and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Teaching:
Deliver engaging and tailored lessons to meet all students' needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
Curriculum Development:
Assist in developing and adjusting the curriculum to suit the unique requirements of PRU students.
Assessment and Reporting:
Regularly evaluate students' progress, offer constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records. Provide progress reports to parents/carers and other stakeholders.
Classroom Management:
Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and encourages positive behavior.
Pastoral Care:
Offer pastoral support to students, addressing their social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external agencies to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing professional development to keep up-to-date with best teaching practices, especially in a PRU environment.
Safeguarding:
Ensure the well-being and safety of all students, following the school's safeguarding policies and procedures.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a recognized teaching credential.
Experience:
Previous experience teaching Key Stage 3 students, preferably in a PRU or similar setting. Experience with SEN students and challenging behavior is advantageous.
Skills and Attributes:
Effective classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Empathy, patience, and resilience.
Capability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
Commitment to continuous professional growth and reflective practices.
