What you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing a professional, friendly and helpful reception service for all patients and visitors coming to Maternity.
  • Ensuring that patients are registered correctly on the hospital administrations systems.
  • Ensuring that patient referrals are registered on the hospital administration systems
  • Assisting/engaging in the paperless project for Maternity and undertaking ongoing training as appropriate
  • Making patient appointments for all clinics within the Maternity service, including Midwifery, Obstetrics, FMMU & Ultrasound & following up patients that have not attended.

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written

  • Microsoft office skills
  • Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Admin experience
  • Experience of working with the public
  • An articulate, confident manner, both face to face and on the telephone
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations calmly
  • NHS and EPR experience (desirable)
