Job summary

This is a direct replacement for an established permanent Therapy Technician post based on Kent ward (tertiary Neurology service) at St George's Hospital.

The post holder provides Occupational and Therapy Technician sessions to patients in this clinical area with a range of psycho-social, physical, cognitive and emotional problems including terminal illness.

Main duties of the job

Clinical:

This post forms part of a highly specialist service at an inpatient neurology ward at St George's. The position is specialised and needs to be at a Band 3 level due to the clinical complexity of the caseload.

Therapy interventions provided are specialist and include physical, sensory, cognitive and perceptual rehabilitation interventions. The post holder further supports with the discharge planning process. The

postholder contributes to the intensity of rehabilitation provided over seven days.

Leadership/workforce management:

The position is specialised due to its requirement to provide highly specialist advice and clinical treatment support in the assessment/management of patients with complex neurological needs

About us

This Therapy Technician post is a permanent post forming part of the acute neurosciences team which covers the regional acute neurology unit.

The postholder contributes to the seven day service across neurosciences which has a direct impact on patient flow and reducing length of stay within St George's.
