About the Department:

The Registry sits within the Student and Academic Services Directorate alongside Academic Services, Access, Participation, and Student Success, Careers, Student Advice and Wellbeing, and Student Experience, Engagement, and Retention.


About the Role**The Student Visa Compliance Team which sits within the Academic Registry, is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that the School meets its ongoing responsibilities to the Home Office/UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) as a Student Visa Sponsor and maintains its Sponsor status.


The Student Visa Compliance Officer will work closely with the Student Visa Compliance Manager to ensure that the School meets its Student Sponsor responsibilities and that relevant actions are undertaken at all stages of the student journey from admissions and enrolment, through to completion.

The post holder will be responsible for carrying out a number of day-to-day operational duties that are essential to the School meeting its statutory reporting and record-keeping obligations in all areas of visa compliance.

The post holder will be the first point of contact for the delivery of an effective and professional service to students and staff in relation to student visa compliance matters.


You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent/professional qualifications with a good understanding of Student route visa requirements and other UK visa matters and experience working in a similar area in Higher education.

You will ideally have experience working within a student visa compliance role and experience using the UKVI Sponsor Management system.


Additionally, the postholder will be expected to have a comprehensive understanding of School policies and procedures and broader HE issues, especially in the maintenance of student visas and the School's student sponsor licence.
