Purchasing Manager

The role of Purchasing Manager has a split with duties, some of the role supports the Customer Forecast (Commercial) management with the General Manager and is primarily responsiblefor overseeing and managing supply chain processes and strategy in order to maximize process efficiency and productivity.
Taking accountability of the inbound materials to the site, stock management and sourcing of suppliers.Key duties include:
- Manage and control raw material stock levels and inventory requirements
- Create supply chain management strategies that increase efficiency and speed
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Customer Service ensuring business objectives and targets are met
- Manage supply chain issues and ensure all relevant Departments are aware
- Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner
- Plan stock flow through the business to meet expected customer demands
- Daily review of stocks v orders and adjustment of the forecast where needed
- Manage a small team to ensure agreed sales figures meet the coordinated raw materials requisitions and come into the facility on the agreed schedules
- Plan and manage all purchase orders and track delivery for product
- Run monthly stock meetings to review any slow moving/obsolete stock and potential stock issues
- Develop key Supply Chain KPI's and review on a regular basis
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with vendors
- Seek to improve all aspects of the supply chain department by reviewing current methodology and processes
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering / manufacturing environment.
- Actively seek to improve all aspects of the supply chain
- Professional communication skills are essential when conversing and negotiating with vendors
- Toplevel understanding of all aspects of supply chain processes
- Previous experience with Purchasing / Supply Chain Management is essential
- Experience working with and maintaining databases using Microsoft Excel and others relevant to company processes
- Critical thinker and problem solving skills
Salary:
£up to £45,000 + package
