Sleaford, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom Lincolnshire County Council Full time

About the Role

No two days are the same in children's residential care. In this role, you will support our children and young people to complete practical tasks independently such as personal hygiene routines or guiding them through processing information. Additionally, you will assist in household duties and prepare the youth for independent living. You will collaborate with various agencies like education, social services, law enforcement, and healthcare, while also maintaining consistent communication with families. Embracing the emotional and physical demands of this position with readiness and courage is crucial.

As a relief worker, you will have flexible working hours with a competitive hourly wage. There is also a sleeping-in allowance, mileage reimbursement, overtime pay, and complimentary parking. We are currently seeking relief workers for various homes, including The Beacon, Eastgate, Northolme, and Robin House.

About Our Homes

Mainstream Homes: We operate several mainstream homes accommodating children of various ages, focusing on creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth and development.

Supported Accommodation: Our Supported Accommodation offers young adults the chance to experience independent living under supportive conditions, aimed at skill development and growth.

Children With Disabilities: We run homes specifically designed to cater to children with disabilities, providing long-term and short-term care solutions.

Lincs Secure Unit: Our Secure Unit offers specialized care for young individuals, focusing on rehabilitation and transition back into the community or adult facilities.

About You

We do not require professional care experience for this role as comprehensive training will be provided. We are seeking individuals who are caring, playful, and passionate about child welfare. Ideally, you would have a kind and enthusiastic demeanor, a willingness to learn and adapt, and possess basic IT skills.

About Our Offer

Our committed carers adhere to our core values and ethos. In addition to a competitive salary, we provide extensive training, development opportunities, and a supportive leadership team to guide you in your role.

Lincolnshire County Council promotes equal opportunities and fosters an inclusive work environment. We value high-quality training and professional development to ensure the well-being and success of our employees. Applications will close soon, early submission is advised.
