London, Greater London, United Kingdom Amazon TA Full time

At Amazon, we're striving to become the most customer-centric company in the world. To achieve this goal, we are seeking highly talented, intelligent, and forward-thinking individuals.

Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is on the lookout for a dedicated, analytical, and resourceful individual to assist in Network Capacity Management (NCM) within the EU Middle Mile transportation network.

The role focuses on providing our network with efficient and adaptable capacity solutions to meet seasonal peak demands while optimizing costs.

In this position, you will play a key role in enhancing customer experience by shaping the development, planning, and execution of production planning cycles to ensure efficient and cost-effective labor plans.

You will continuously assess, challenge, and enhance planning strategies with data-driven insights to elevate our performance in this rapidly expanding sector.

This role demands a quick grasp of operations to grasp key performance indicators (KPIs) and familiarity with Amazon systems to facilitate streamlined planning and analysis.

You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders and teams in transportation to drive cost reductions and enhance customer satisfaction.

We are searching for an enthusiastic, analytical, and resourceful individual capable of showcasing outstanding customer service, strong motivation, and adept stakeholder management skills.

If you thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment and enjoy leveraging data to mitigate risks and develop customer-centric solutions, you are the ideal candidate for this role.

The perfect candidate will possess experience in production planning/labor planning and a relentless commitment to refining the accuracy and efficiency of the planning process.

While the preferred location for this position is LHR35, other Amazon locations across the EU will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Building short- and medium-term operational capacity plans to optimize staffing costs and services
  • Analyzing planning gaps/deviations and translating them into actionable enhancements for future plans
  • Collaborating with various business teams to validate and refine input variables using a data-driven approach
  • Emphasizing controllership, promoting continuous improvement and standardization of processes, including the implementation of best planning practices and automation initiatives
  • Communicating complex analyses, insights, and outcomes to senior leadership to influence tactical and strategic business decisions
  • Working with diverse data sources, identifying and resolving data discrepancies, and partnering on solutions to uphold high standards
  • Participating in global operational and production planning projects to address evolving business needs

A day in the life: You will focus on enhancing our business objectives daily, from boosting efficiency to ensuring reliability, and devise innovative strategies to achieve these goals. You will work within a team driving significant projects to standardize processes and enhance our operations. Your role will involve regular collaboration with senior management and stakeholders to define project requirements and keep them informed on progress, risks, and implications. Additionally, you will develop communication plans to educate everyone on the new processes you implement.

As a Capacity Planning Manager, you will be the leading expert in identifying inefficiencies, recognizing gaps, and devising effective solutions. Delving deep into data will enable you to pinpoint challenges and assess the impact of your enhancements.

About the Team: The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team plays a vital role in Amazon's rapid pace of delivery. As part of ATS, you will join a diverse team that is instrumental to our success. Leveraging air, sea, and road transport, along with cutting-edge sortation centers, you will help streamline Amazon's transport operations for maximum efficiency. Our team leverages data to drive decision-making, making Amazon more innovative and effective. Safety is our top priority, and our team's expertise ensures packages reach their destination swiftly, conveniently, and sustainably.
