About the Role

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Capacity Planning Manager to join our Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting Network Capacity Management in capacity planning functions in the EU Middle Mile transportation network.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Capacity Plans: Build short- and medium-term operational capacity plans to optimize cost and service associated with staffing, ensuring robust and cost-optimal labor plans.
  2. Analyze and Improve Planning Processes: Analyze planning gaps/deviations and translate them into actionable items to improve future plans, driving continuous improvement and standardization of processes.
  3. Collaborate with Business Teams: Interact with business teams (e.g. finance, forecasting) to validate and challenge input variables using a data-driven approach, ensuring accurate and reliable data.
  4. Communicate Complex Analysis: Communicate complex analysis, insights, and results to senior leadership to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions.
  5. Identify and Resolve Data Issues: Work with a variety of data sources, identify incomplete or inaccurate data, identify root causes, escalate discrepancies, partner on the resolution, and execute fixes.
  6. Participate in Global Initiatives: Participate in global operational and production planning initiatives and projects to identify and adjust to growing business needs.
A Day in the Life

As a Capacity Planning Manager, you will be responsible for spotting problems, identifying gaps and inefficiencies, and creating solutions. You will work closely with senior management and stakeholders to define project requirements and update them on status, risks, and impacts.

About the Team

Amazon's ATS team plays a central role in our success, using air, sea, and road transport, as well as sortation centers equipped with the latest technology. Our team captures data and uses it to drive decisions, ensuring maximum efficiency in our transportation network.

Requirements
  1. A degree in business, supply chain, transportation, economics, or a technical field.
  2. Relevant experience working in a supply chain, transportation, project management, or management consulting role.
  3. Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment.
  4. Understanding of SQL.
  5. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QuickSight.
