Capacity Planning Manager

Amazon is seeking a Capacity Planning Manager to support Network Capacity Management in capacity planning functions in the EU Middle Mile transportation network. The team provides our network with cost-optimal and flexible capacity solutions for operations and ensures to scale for seasonal peak demand increases.

In this role, you will drive customer experience by directly influencing development, planning and execution of production planning cycles to ensure robust and cost optimal labor plans. You are constantly monitoring, evaluating and challenging planning inputs and provide data-driven insights to improve our performance in a growing business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Building short- and medium-term operational capacity plans to optimize cost and service associated with staffing.
  2. Analyzing planning gaps/deviations and translating them into actionable items to improve future plans.
  3. Interacting with business teams (e.g. finance, forecasting) to validate and challenge input variables using a data-driven approach.
  4. Focusing on controllership, driving continuous improvement and standardization of processes, including implementation of planning best practices and automation initiatives.
  5. Communicating complex analysis, insights, and results to senior leadership to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions.
  6. Working with a variety of data sources, identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying root causes, escalating discrepancies, partnering on the resolution, and executing fixes.
  7. Analyzing and solving business problems related to data deviations through identifying root causes, driving corrective actions, and implementing processes and mechanisms to insist on the highest standards.
  8. Participating in global operational and production planning initiatives and projects to identify and adjust to growing business needs.
A Day in the Life

Every day, you'll focus on our business objectives – from improving efficiency to increasing reliability – and find creative ways to make these happen. You'll be part of a team driving major projects to standardize our processes and make improvements to our operations. That will involve being in regular contact with senior management and a wider group of stakeholders to define the project requirements and update them on status, risks, and impacts. You'll also create communication plans to bring everyone up to speed with the new processes you implement.
