Youth Offending Team Senior Practitioner

Cheshire Youth Justice Service are a high performing, nationally recognised and award winning Youth Justice Service and are seeking to recruit a motivated Senior Practitioner to join our very friendly multi-disciplinary team on a permanent basis.


You will be part of an experienced Management Team and in addition may manage a small complex case load of young people.

You will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and other agencies to achieve the best outcomes for the public and the young person themselves whilst also offering direct line management support to staff.

You will also take your place on a management duty rota which includes the occasional Saturday/Bank Holiday Court.


The post is categorised as Hybrid post which means staff are able to work from a number of office locations and from home at times.


The nature of this work can be very challenging you will therefore need to be a confident and resilient practitioner.

You must have experience of working with young people and have a commitment to helping them make positive changes in their lives.


You should have the enthusiasm and dedication to work and be keen to support and supervise staff alongside countersigning AssetPlus's and quality assuring reports.


You must have the ability to effectively work alongside partner agencies, and to engage parents/carers and young people utilising a relationship based practice model, alongside excellent communication skills and IT skills.


A qualification in either social work, probation (equivalent qualification) or a Professional Certificate in Effective Practice combined with a relevant degree is essential.
