Our Young People's Workers are crucial in ensuring that the young individuals they assist have a fulfilling journey towards their goals as outlined in their care plan. Despite the challenges, this role is highly fulfilling, making a tangible impact on each young person's advancement. Working with a person-centered approach, you will provide supportive care, ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional assistance to children in their daily lives and within the community.

What we are looking for...

We are seeking a Young People's Worker for a permanent position. The typical hours would be around 23 per week during term time for 42 weeks annually and 35 hours per week for 10 weeks (school holidays). On average, you would work 25.30 hours per week yearly. Weekday shifts are between 3pm and 10pm, while weekends are full-time, ranging from 12pm Friday to 5pm Sunday. Full-time shifts are scheduled for holiday weeks, and the rota may require you to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays, including paid sleepover shifts.

Shift patterns vary throughout the year. During school holidays, shifts are available round the clock for 10 weeks, with standard shifts from 8-4.15pm or 4-10pm. The schedule for the remaining 42 weeks consists of Wed-Sunday one week and Friday-Sunday the following week, with afternoon and evening shifts on weekdays and standard weekend shifts.

A Day in the Life of a Young People's Worker

A typical day starts around 7.30am, assisting our young individuals with their morning routine and personal hygiene. We prepare breakfast, medications, and organize daily activities, including outings, ensuring safety measures. Afternoons are dedicated to in-house activities, allowing staff to manage paperwork and plan for the evening, which includes cooking a nutritious dinner tailored to each individual's preferences and dietary needs.
