Foodbuy is a top food procurement organization in the UK, managing over £1 billion in spend. We specialize in bringing together a diverse group of foodservice and hospitality clients to streamline food purchasing and related activities.

Our team collaborates closely with clients to provide expert procurement services, saving them time and money, allowing them to focus on their core business priorities.

At Foodbuy, we secured the contract to procure food for the NHS back in 2018. We have since established a dedicated team to focus on public sector procurement, ensuring we meet the requirements and generate savings for the NHS.

This exciting role offers you the opportunity to lead and develop the Dietetic Strategy for nutritional compliance. By doing so, you'll make a real impact not only on the NHS Supply Chain but also on the health and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors at NHS facilities.

Supply Chain:
  • Define and transform how NHS Supply Chain: Food addresses nutrition to help NHS Trusts meet their obligations under the Hospital Food Standards.
  • Collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders across Foodbuy functions, particularly regarding the NHS Supply Chain: Food contract.
Responsibilities:
  • Create the nutrition and compliance strategy roadmap along with short, medium, and long-term project plans.
  • Develop and implement processes to assess performance and drive continuous improvement in line with Hospital Food Standards.
  • Collaborate with category buyers to monitor supplier nutrition & health policies and leverage insights to boost framework growth.
  • Implement a supplier performance scorecard across the supply base.
  • Ensure supply compliance with Hospital Food Standards through engagement with trusts, audits, and continuous monitoring.
  • Lead initiatives promoting plant-forward eating and well-being across the NHS.
  • Advise on tender documentation, including specifications for nutrition labeling and relevant standards.
  • Promote added value services internally and externally to deliver savings and revenue for key trusts.
  • Inspire positive change and quality within the NHS Supply Chain: Food team, working collaboratively with culinary, procurement, and account management teams.
Key skills, knowledge, and experience required:
  • Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics.
  • Proven experience as a Dietitian or Registered Nutritionist.
  • HCPC or UKVRN registered.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
  • Skilled in facilitating product switching and sampling sessions with stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel across England, including overnight stays.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passionate about food trends and industry developments.
  • Expertise in MS Office tools.
  • Understanding of patient feeding solutions in NHS hospitals.
  • Effective planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license.
