Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Software Tester Apprentice with Dolphin, a Software company based in Worcester.

Dolphin is seeking enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Worcester-based testing team to assist with quality assurance, ensuring out customers have a consistent, high quality experience. An apprenticeship with Dolphin offers you the opportunity to develop your programming and software testing knowledge and grow to take on a widening variety of responsibilities as you progress. We want someone who is keen to be a part of our growth.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

What sort of work might you be doing?

Your role will be varied right from the start, growing in responsibility as you progress. Types of responsibilities you might be tasked with include:

  • Prepare and maintain test plans and test cases.
  • Carry out fault finding and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Report test coverage and provide feedback to developers and project teams.
  • Configure and maintain computer systems.
  • What experience do you need?
  • 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C in English and Mathematics).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products and operating systems.
  • Good troubleshooting knowledge of hardware and software issues.
  • Knowledge of assistive technology is desirable.

Qualifications:

5GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Future prospects:

The role offers a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance.

Training to be provided:

Estio apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we've purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.

Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Software Tester, with training in how to:

  • Ensure that the software used within your business operates as intended.
  • Design and prepare test plans and conduct software testing as appropriate to ensure your software is fit for purpose.
  • Collect and interpret the results of testing and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Understand the software lifecycle and apply software development practices.
  • Document and report test results.
  • Store, manage and share test data in a secure manner.
