An opening is available within Estates & Engineering for a Client Representative. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in marine and site operations. This role requires flexibility as it involves working outside designated hours and on weekends, being part of the on-call rotation, and coordinating contractors for emergency breakdowns. Responsibilities include overseeing activities at all 6 Wightlink sites, along with potential travel to external supplier sites for meetings.
Role Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Estates Manager to plan and schedule construction tasks
- Supervise construction workers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications
- Engage with stakeholders to manage their needs and expectations effectively
- Attend site meetings and deliver progress updates to the Estate Manager and other stakeholders
- Assist in project budget management to avoid exceeding limits
- Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise during operations
- Maintain accurate and readily accessible documentation on share point and Maximo
- Interpret briefs and develop projects accordingly
Requirements:
- Qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Possession of CSCS & SMSTS certifications
- Familiarity with building codes and CDM regulations
- First Aid certified
- Having a Driving Licence is advantageous due to travel requirements
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Capacity to motivate and supervise contractors
- Excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
- Self-driven with outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Physical fitness is necessary for this role, comfortable with working at heights near water
