Position:

This role is responsible for undertaking risk reporting and analysis across HTB's lending portfolios. This involves extracting, manipulating and converting data into easily understandable reporting packs. It involves producing regular reports and presentations for senior management and credit committees.

It also includes analysing data, identifying trends and developing an in-depth understanding of HTB's business and customers in order to deliver insightful analysis.

The role will be expected to identify opportunities to enhance processes, procedures and tools.

He or she will also identify and investigate new data sources and find new ways of looking at existing datasets in order to generate new insight.


Requirements:

Qualifications/Experience
***:

  • Strong academic background with a degree in a quantitative discipline
  • Exceptional attention to detail, rigour and accuracy
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Excellent analytical abilities, including experience of programming
  • Excellent written and presentational skills
  • Experience using SAS is highly desirable
  • Understanding or experience of credit risk also desirable.

Other information:

  • Produce accurate, timely monthly reporting including monitoring of risk appetite, portfolio trends and early warning indicators
  • Present data and analysis in a way that enables the Executive and Board to make informed decisions
  • Liaise and collaborate with the various teams to understand reporting requirements and to identify and fix data gaps and issues
  • Conduct proactive analysis of credit trends and behaviours across Hampshire Trust Bank
  • Deliver bespoke analytics to aid the front line business in understanding their overall risk profile
  • Support the bank wide Data Integrity program, improving the quality and consistency of data the bank uses in its reporting
  • Ensure processes and procedures are properly documented and effectively controlled
  • Continuously improve processes, procedures and tools
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative and constructive relationships with the 1 Line businesses and functions to support the delivery of business objectives whilst maintaining effective controls
  • Support the broader Risk and Compliance function where required.
