At Lloyd's, we are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our Markets Emerging Risk team. Our team is at the forefront of the global risk management industry, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our innovative risk and exposure management frameworks, as well as have access to cutting-edge research tools.

This role requires someone with advanced knowledge and a passion for climate science or meteorology, as well as statistical and scientific research methods. Previous research experience within the insurance market is beneficial, but not essential. You should possess strong analytical skills, be able to explain complex technical information clearly, and have an ability to apply a commercial background to technical areas. You should also have excellent problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to structure and distil information concisely and clearly.

Your duties in the role will include:

  • Contributing to our Markets Emerging Risk Strategy and Build links with emerging risks professionals both internally and externally
  • Developing novel approaches for the quantification of emerging risks and exposures
  • Providing briefings on emerging risks to the Head of Portfolio Risk Management and Markets Leadership team
  • Ensuring emerging risks are adequately catered for in our risk and exposure management frameworks

You will also be expected to translate Futureset (Lloyd's global platform and community that creates and shares risk insight, expertise, and solutions to the world's most challenging problems. Through cutting-edge risk research and insights, events, and access to leading experts, we are working together to spark innovation, build understanding and drive forward resilient solutions) output into market-relevant deliverables and represent Lloyd's at external meetings, steering committees, trade conferences, roundtables, or other internal or external stakeholder events.
