Group Events Lead

Reporting to the Group Head of Internal Communications

The Group Events Coordinator is a key role delivering major business events with global executive, Board and NEDs, internationally, on time and in budget.

The role


The Events Lead is a newly created role responsible for management and delivery of the Group Events agency who are tasked with delivering all events across the Group portfolio.

The Events Lead manages the agency and ensures consistency across all undertaken events, providing support to Business Unit or Functional leads when events are briefed in, and taking a hands-on role in delivery as necessary.

This includes hands-on delivery of events on site and working with executives to ensure content is delivered and ultimate control of design/slideware as required.


Key areas of responsibility:

  • Partnership with relevant Business Leaders to deliver the key events programme, among them the annual Hiscox Global Partner Event, London Broker Summit, London Christmas Party, and Group Functions Summit.
  • Leads the business to ensure appropriate budgets are set, and events are delivered on time and in budget.
  • Management of external events agency including close partnership on SOWs, budget oversight, processes and timelines.
  • Development of event proposals and approaches, coordination and management of content requirements working with Internal/External/Digital comms colleagues and other business partners where necessary.
  • Able to manage delivery of multiple complex events.
  • Given the cyclical nature of the events programme, this role will also support the broader internal communications team as needed including content creation and projects as required.
Skills and Experience

  • Deep experience in both internal communications and events years preferred. Those with less years but the right level of knowledge will naturally be considered
  • Experienced in managing events agencies and working across multiple locations
  • Confident and able to appropriately manage senior stakeholders including setting appropriate expectations such as goals and budget
  • Ready to bring a new approach to an existing process and challenge expectations to make sure we're delivering the right events in the right way
  • A detailoriented manager with understanding of budgets and processes required to deliver complex, multistakeholder, multiregion events
  • Creative and enthusiastic with a fresh view on the Hiscox global events programme
  • A selfstarter with ideas and ability to work independently and at pace
  • A multitasker with ideas and interest in shaping the events programme
  • A cool head with the ability to work well under pressure
