Job summary:

GCHQ is an intelligence, cyber and security agency with a mission to keep the UK safe. We use cutting-edge technology, ingenuity and partnerships to identify, analyse and disrupt threats. Working with our intelligence partners MI5 and MI6, we protect the UK from terrorism, cyber-attacks and espionage.

At GCHQ you'll do varied and fascinating work in a supportive and inclusive environment that puts the emphasis on teamwork.

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), part of GCHQ, is the UK Government's lead authority on cyber security.

The organisation is at the heart of the Government's cyber security strategy and has the aim of making the UK the safest place to live and work online.

The NCSC's Private Sector Critical National Infrastructure (PSCNI) team (part of the Resilience and Future Technology Directorate) work closely with private sector organisations that operate our critical national infrastructure - supporting their cyber security and resilience to protect the essential services they deliver.

The PSCNI events and trust groups programme is well established and well respected, it plays a crucial role in both the tactical and strategic aspects of our mission to raise the cyber security and resilience of the UK's CNI.

As NCSC PSCNI Events and Trust Groups Lead you'll thrive building professional relationships as you work with cross-government and industry partners, academics and commercial groups.

Job description:

  • You'll use your communication and planning skills to deliver PSCNI's highly regarded security conferences and events for trust groups and external partners, working alongside partner organisations to set strategic direction in line with NCSC priorities, source content and manage the planning and delivery of events. You'll set the standard for what good looks like by working closely with stakeholders to centrally coordinate PSCNI Trust Groups; tracking and compiling metrics, and identifying opportunities for crosssector alignment internally and externally, including new opportunities to use Trust Groups to support the NCSC's mission. Importantly, you'll be the kind of person that's approachable. In collaboration with the wider team, you'll oversee the delivery of NCSC's CEO briefing programme for PSCNI sectors, led by a Collaborations and Campaigns Hub colleague.
Excited by innovation and eager to discover new ways of working, you'll manage the central governance of PSCNI Trust Groups:
advising on policy, getting to grips with management processes, looking for ways to optimize and ensure processes are fit for purpose

Person specification:

As PSCNI Events and Trust Groups Lead, you'll work with key stakeholders across NCSC and partner organisations to lead on the planning and delivery of PSCNI Events and own the central governance, co-ordination, and strategic direction for PSCNI Trust Groups.

  • You'll have a passion for managing events and strong prioritisation, project management and organisation skills, working both autonomously and as part of a team to ensure timely planning and effective delivery of CNI events for key external partners.
  • You'll be motivated with the ability to problem solve and drive progress in your portfolio of work. You'll have, or be willing to develop with support, the confidence to work with more senior colleagues and a wide range of NCSC teams to make the best of PSCNI Trust Groups.
  • You'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, representing NCSC when communicating with external industry and crossgovernment partners.
  • You'll have good judgment, identifying and resolving problems and ensuring that PSCNI Events and Trust Groups' output meets the high expectations of key internal and external stakeholders.
  • You'll thrive in a team, be willing to support Collaboration and Campaigns Hub (CCH) team members in delivering PSCNI crosssector projects and initiatives.
  • You'll have the drive to develop the necessary skills and experience to fulfil this role independently and will be supported in doing so.

You do not need prior cyber experience but will have an interest in developing foundational cyber-security knowledge to understand NCSC key objectives and PSCNI cyber-security concerns.

The NCSC will assess you against competencies used by the UK Intelligence Community. These competencies are based closely on the Civil Servic
