The Department of Genetics is looking to recruit a new Postgraduate Administrator to join our friendly and vibrant Professional Services team.

This is a key role within the Department, responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support for the postgraduate education programme.

This involves working closely with the Director of Postgraduate Education and acting as the first point of contact for enquiries from postgraduate applicants, current students and academic staff regarding postgraduate matters.

The Postgraduate Administrator regularly interacts with students and their supervisors to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the programmes therefore strong communication skills are essential.

The Department of Genetics has around 80 postgraduate students at any one time across its MPhil and PhD programmes.

Suitable applicants should be able demonstrate that they are well-organised, proactive, reliable and self-motivated, using initiative to manage competing priorities, ensuring key deadlines are met.

Confidence and professionalism when communicating with staff and students is essential, with an aptitude for IT also beneficial (learning new processes and systems quickly).

Applicants should be qualified to 'A' level standard or equivalent with relevant university administration experience or transferable skills.
