Role Profile:

Reporting to the Customer Support Manager.

You will take on and provide Administrative Support, fault coordination, engineer tasking and day to day administration support for the Traffic Business within our Wednesbury Based Office.

Working in an agile environment, attending the office as and when required but part of a rota system between the hours of 0800 and 1700, 5 Days a week.

Full time staff attending the office no more than twice a week, unless requested by line management.

A fast paced environment with multiple tasks on going at any one time.

To provide Administrative Support to the Midlands Service Centre, controlling documentation and day to day administration in support of the Service Centre Managers.

This role will also require you to communicate effectively with field-based Traffic Engineers on a daily basis when required, so you MUST be comfortable with communicating with Engineers on a regular basis.


The Contract Coordinator will form part of a team, mainly consisting of field-based Traffic Engineers, and be responsible for daily office duties such as general administration and ensuring our Engineers are guided through various projects should they have any issues or problems.

The role also involves issuing faults to the field-based Engineers.

Typical Deliverables:

  • Issuing and coordinating faults to the field based Engineers on a daily basis ensuring that faults are passed within the SLAs
  • Invoicing all chargeable works and maintenance works for the Traffic Service Centre
  • The issuing and coordinating of Safety Alert read receipts as part of H&S process
  • Dealing with Customer focused queries
  • Liaise with Engineers to ensure timesheets are completed in a timely manner
  • Produce Contract Reports
  • Order PPE / relevant site equipment to support the Delivery of the Contract
  • Documentation Control / General Administration
  • Carry out administration tasks as determined by Service Centre Managers

Business Operations Skills - Experience:

  • Will be able to demonstrate a highly professional manner when dealing with clients/customers/Engineers
  • Need to work as part of a team
  • Ability to react to changing circumstances and work under pressure
  • Familiar with Highways Agency / Traffic / Transport OR Local Authority although, training will be provided
  • Ability to carry out general administration duties

Business Operations Skills - Qualifications:

  • Experience of General Office processes & procedures
  • IT skills around Microsoft Word, Miscrosoft Excel are ESSENTIAL
  • Oracle experience (desirable)
  • First Aid (highly desirable)
  • Manual Handling (desirable)

Behavioural Requirements:

  • The position demands a high level of initiative and selfmotivation
  • The position will need you to be flecible and adaptable to chaning requirements
  • Shall inform Line Managers of Health & Safety issues identified
  • Shall cooperate with Telent on health and safety matters
