Specialist Mental Health Practitioner

The FCAMHS initiative aims to improve the outcomes for children where there are concerns about their mental health and development and their potential risk to others.
The post holder will be expected to be primarily within the F CAMHS NW team, based at the GMMH Prestwich site.
The post holder will be expected to provide expert consultation to referrers and direct assessment and intervention to children, young people, their families and carers.
The post holder will form part of a team that works closely with the senior managers and clinicians to maintain a trauma informed system that supports mental health and well-being of the team and influences the systems of governance and management around them.
The post holder will be required to lead expert forensic consultation meetings on videoconferencing software or in person at the agencies locality base, providing advice and recommendations for the treatment of underlying mental health difficulties, the management of high risk behaviour, and interventions to reduce the likelihood of recidivism.
The post holder will undertake specialist forensic assessments meeting with the young person, family, and carers, formulating the young persons difficulties and risk, and providing external agencies with a comprehensive assessment report.
The post holder will delivery highly specialist intervention to reduce the risk of high risk behaviour, including severe violence and harmful sexual behaviour.
The post holder will engage with external stakeholders, providing information about the service and bespoke training packages upskilling community agencies in managing high risk behaviour and assessing young people who display high risk behaviour.
The post holder will provider support, training, and supervision to junior colleagues across the GMMH CAMHS division, supporting them in their of caring for high risk young people.
