St John Paul II Multi Academy are seeking a HR apprentice to support the schools across the Trust, by ensuring HR administration functions run smoothly.

To provide support across all areas of the HR function, maintain personnel data and ensuring it is always compliant.

Apprenticeship summary

What will the apprentice be doing?
- to ensure an accurate and confidential HR service is provided for the Multi Academy in a sensitive manner
- to support with the coordination of recruitment and selection activities for all staff including the following: Placing adverts in appropriate publications
- liaising with applicants
- typing of job descriptions and person specifications
- preparation of interview schedules
- arranging venues and all associated resources required
- written correspondence such as invitations to interview and offer letters
- requesting references
- to ensure the administration of appointment of staff is carried out in accordance with the MAC's commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
- to assist with pre-employment checks in accordance with

  • St John Paul II Safer Recruitment Policy and KCSiE including right to work checks, qualification checks, health clearances, overseas police checks
- to assist with the checking of all pre-employment documentation associated with the Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) checks, raising any concerns with the HR Officer as appropriate
- to provide administrative support relating to starters, leavers and contract/salary variations in a timely manner for all staff
- to assist with maintaining the single central register, including compliance checks for agency staff
- to maintain up to date records of CPD for all staff
- to assist in forming and maintain up to date personnel files and records
- to maintain personnel database systems ensuring appropriate data is collected and maintained accurately and in line with GDPR guidelines
- to maintain compliance with all relevant legislation including data protection and safeguarding

Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- to uphold the MAC's policies relating to safeguarding & child protection, behaviour, health and safety and all other relevant policies
- to promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons for whom you are responsible, and come into contact with
- to ensure full compliance with all statutory regulations, in particular Keeping Children Safe in Education, communicating concerns to the designated safeguarding lead, as appropriate

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- you will be working towards your Level 3 HR Support qualification, across a duration of 20 months
- all course/ assignments will be completed online via our Smart Assessor Platform
- you will have an allocated tutor through LMP Education, who will support you throughout the apprenticeship, along with your workplace manager/ mentor
- all studying is remote/ delivered online, no classroom or college expectation, you will have a monthly online session with your tutor to ensure you're on track

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- potential to be offered a full-time position upon completion for the right applicant. This is not guaranteed

Things to consider:
All Apprenticeships require an enhanced DBS check before the commencement of the role due to working with children.


Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
