Are you someone passionate about championing apprenticeships and making a real impact in the rail industry? Avanti West Coast is looking for an experienced Apprenticeship and Training Quality Manager to join their team.

As the Apprenticeship and Training Quality Manager, you will have a crucial role in driving the company's apprenticeship program and ensuring top-notch training standards. Your responsibilities will include representing the business in government discussions on apprenticeships and coordinating efforts to meet Department for Transport targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop apprenticeship strategy alongside Head of L&D to support delivery of committed obligations and wider apprenticeship targets.
  • Develop, oversee and/or manage action plans stemming from apprenticeship and quality strategies to support the aims and objectives of such plans to be met.
  • Maintain apprenticeship governance to ensure compliance with Education Skills Funding Agency requirements, and to maintain a quality approach to apprenticeship delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize apprenticeship levy to contribute to business benefit.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to utilize apprenticeships to support succession planning, business initiatives, organizational change plans, or to support operational delivery.
  • Create and sustain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority, developing purposeful partnerships to ensure high-quality apprenticeship provision and timely completions.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of Institute for Apprenticeship & Technical Education apprenticeship standards.
  • Strong influencing skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in people management to support, coach, mentor, advise, and manage apprentices, alongside building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet desired aims.
