About the role

The Cause are looking for a forward thinking bookings & Promotions Assistant with a passion for music, culture, arts, food and drink to assist in programming our portfolio of venues including clubs, bars and pubs across London.

The successful applicant will work on programming a range of exciting venues, researching and sourcing new promoters, networks and communities to engage with, as well as working on the marketing and promotion of these.

This is not a role for strictly booking DJs but bringing a diverse range of activity to our sites, ranging from comedy to art, fashion shows, markets, live entertainment, club-nights, corporate events and more.

This role is perfect for someone with some bookings, music, clubbing and event promotion experience and a hunger to carve out a career in a forward-thinking company.

Responsibilities

  • Support our senior booking & marketing teams to programme our portfolio of venues, reporting directly to head of bookings and managing director
  • Liaise with agents, managers and promoters to gather availabilities, book talent and associated admin, including advancing of information to venues, for events of up to 4000 attendees.
  • Handle incoming enquiries across email, social media, listings sites, vetting potential promoters, events and artists to attain their value to our venues.
  • With training, lead on the overall diaries of our smaller venues.
  • Assist in marketing (online and offline), including maintenance of social media / email marketing, chasing content from partners, ensuring venue management have tools to promote outside of office hours and any other duties that will increase exposure, sales and success.
  • Brainstorm and develop ideas for future events, marketing, promotions and anything else that has potential to add value to our venues, operation, company culture and/or ethos
  • Support the team through hands on attendance at events, launches and other ad-hoc duties
  • Collating and uploading of event listings, ensuring tickets are on sale, events gain maximum exposure and that all potential marketing avenues are realised
  • Implementing and managing local marketing and engagement strategies, including collaborations with local communities, aligned partners and other entities
  • Updating and reporting of performance related to activities such as bar sales, ticket sales, community value and/or any other measures
  • Competitive analysis and strategic decision making
  • Assist in the launch of new projects and venues

Location & commitments

  • Full time permanent role
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend / evening work required (TOIL given in respect of this)
  • Normal place of work will be The Cause, 60 Dock Road, E16 1YZ or any of our other sites we have an interest in within a 10 mile radius if requested (e.g. All My Friends, Unit 1 Hamlet Industrial Estate, 96 White Post Lane, E9 5EN or The Greyhound, 109 Peckham High St, London SE15 5SE). You may be required to work (within reason) at any of our premises or any of our clients, suppliers or any associated companies from time to time.

Candidate requirement

  • A strong varied understanding of London nightlife. Including food, drink, culture, fashion, music and art.
  • Venue and booking experience within club, live and cultural events.
  • Event management experience
  • Social media management experience (Hootsuite, Facebook, Tik Tok, Instagram, Telegram)
  • Experience of email marketing such as mailchimp
  • Ability to juggle a variety of projects at once, multitasking.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Basic experience of working within hospitality on the ground
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite (e.g. Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Premier Pro or other editing software) preferred but not essential.

  • Salary based upon experience
