The role:

The HR Graduate role will be based in the Central HR team, supporting multiple sites and reporting to the Head of HR (England and Central Divisions).


Joining a skilled team of HR professionals, each with their own expertise, you will have the chance to enhance your current skills and engage in continuous personal growth.


Throughout the program, you will acquire a diverse range of HR knowledge, explore different areas of expertise, and receive the necessary support to pursue a professional qualification and advance your career.

As part of the onboarding process, you will participate in a comprehensive training session focusing on People and Places.

Subsequently, you will rotate through various teams, including specialized centers of expertise or generalist teams that collaborate directly with the business.


This experience will not only provide you with a holistic insight into our operations, but also establish a solid foundation for you to become a versatile HR professional.

From policy implementation to data analysis, driving organizational changes, to understanding our company culture, you will discover the diverse ways we support our teams to excel and explore potential career paths.


Rotational Elements


In this initiative, you will need to relocate to three distinct areas of our company to gain diverse, demanding, and rewarding development opportunities.

Each placement will span 8 months and will be situated in:

  • South West
  • Langport


 Shropshire
  • Ellesmere or Shrewsbury North East
**Activities depending on your placement: - **Supporting ABP sites encompassing HR Manager/teams, involving travel and overnight stays across the UK and NI.

Handling HR operations at site

Interacting with on-site staff and management teams

Recruitment and Onboarding

Ensuring File Compliance

Managing Absences, Disciplinary actions, and Grievances

Collaborating with Occupational Health

Promoting Employee Wellbeing and Engagement

General Support
Offering comprehensive Ad-Hoc assistance to various members of the HR team on multiple projects and tasks.

Assisting with Employee Relations

Ensuring Compliance & Ethical standards

Participating in HR Projects

Supporting Learning & Development

Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong passion and dedication to HR
  • Proficient in analytical, presentation, and IT skills
  • Numerically inclined, adept with figures, and capable of handling complex data
  • Skilled in IT, particularly Excel
  • Strong networking and influencing competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Resilient, with the ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Must hold a valid UK driving license
