This is an exciting opportunity to join the Community Services team and play a key part in helping improve local people's health and wellbeing.

The post will be responsible for leading and co-ordinating volunteers to support the delivery of the health champion programme and Feed the Birds scheme on behalf of Public Health.


Main tasks include:

  • Promotion of both schemes
  • Communicating regularly with volunteers
  • Providing support to volunteers when needed and organising shared supervision sessions
  • Processing volunteer expenses
  • Developing appropriate outcome measures for volunteering projects and demonstrating the impacts they have
  • Working alongside Public Health to establish new council led projects
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with other public, private and voluntary organisations
  • Organising and attending events
