The Waste Management Team at H&F is looking for an energetic person with a positive outlook to monitor the waste and street cleansing contract.

You'll already have waste management experience, being able to advise and support customers in resolving their concerns whilst helping design and provide solutions to improve the delivery of waste and street cleansing services in H&F.

To keep on top of the Council's Waste and Recycling Contracts, you will be confident in monitoring and recording data and use the information to improve contractor performance and services.


Applicants are expected to deliver a range of projects which will include areas such as health and safety, improving the resident experience and planning for future service improvements through new waste management solutions and innovations.

You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and will work alongside our waste contractors. You will also support the delivery of all other aspects of waste services.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and respond to enquiries and complaints, liaise with residents to address their concerns as well as check and improve the flow of complaints from a customer perspective.
  • Carry out onstreet waste and street cleansingrelated inspections and proactively identify and implement improvements.
  • Manage and analyse data to improve contract performance and generate informative management reports.
  • Work with stakeholders to resolve problems impacting on current and future service delivery e.g., planning developments.
  • Monitor and ensure a high standard of health and safety is applied to the waste collection and street cleansing contract.
  • Deliver a range of projects to improve service delivery for our residents.
  • Available to work flexibly according to the demands of the service including weekends, evenings, nights, and bank holidays.
