Midwifery Clinical Educator
Here at SWBH we have a passion for education and practice development. This enables us to maintain and continually develop both our service and the staff that work here.
We are currently looking to expand our maternity Education Team so that we can support our staff, respond to patient safety and enhance our preceptorship programme and provide enhanced pastoral and clinical support for early clinical career midwives.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will be able to rise to the challenges providing excellent midwifery education within our large maternity unit, which includes a main delivery suite, co-located low risk birthing suite and a stand-alone birth centre.
You must have at least three years post registration experience in the clinical setting, and ideally some experience in education and staff development.
You will be required to work both independently and as part of a small team in a Maternity and Neonatal setting delivering supported learning and assessment both in practice and in more formal settings.
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff.
Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.
We have three newly emerging strategic objectives:
- Our People - to cultivate and sustain happy, productive and engaged staff
- Our Patients - to be good or outstanding in everything we do
- Our Population - to work seamlessly with our partners to improve live
At Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals (SWBH) NHS Trust we strive to be at the forefront of innovative midwifery care.
Our maternity services have been recently classed as 'Good' following an unannounced CQC inspection.
We are proud of our approach to multidisciplinary working between our midwives, health visitors and medical staff. We are committed to creating the best place to work, where all staff can reach their full potential. We are also committed to the well-being of our staff.
We will be moving to state of the art facilities as part of our move to the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (due to open 2024).
Please see the attached Job Description and Person Description.
