The South East London Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (SEL DESP) has a vacancy for an administrator within ourcall centreadministration team.
We are looking for a confident professional with experience in managing and prioritising a considerable work load, to join our office-based team.
We have very close links with both ophthalmology and diabetes departments, aiming to provide an integrated and patient focused screening service.
Interviews will take place week beginning 18th September date will be confirmed once number of applicants is known.
We will considerboth part time and full timeapplicants. If part time (i.e. 2.5 days), the successful applicant would be required to work Wednesday to Friday - hours can be discussed at interview.
You will enjoy helping patients and be comfortable working with the latest software packages, including database software.
Excellent customer care skills, together with the ability to work as part of a team to communicate effectively with staff at all levels, is essential.
In addition to patient calls, the post holder will also be responsible for booking patient appointments across all screening sites, ensuring that patients are offered their diabetic eye screening in line with service objectives, whilst maximising efficient use of clinic capacity.
SEL DESP operates a six day service with clinics offered across the localities every Saturday - the administration teamARE NOTrequired to provide office support for patients.
This is a great opportunity to join a friendly team who are dedicated to providing the highest standards of customer service.
A large part of the role also involves providing information about screening to patients over the telephone, and ensuring that patients have access to appropriate support where required to help them attend their appointments.
Our administrators are also responsible for maintaining and updating an accurate register of patients with diabetes so the ability to pay attention to detail to achieve accuracy in a busy administrative environment is vital.
