As a Barclays Business Development Manager - Key Accounts, you will join the Mid Corporate Key Accounts team who are accountable for maintaining and growing existing key client relationships, driving new client acquisition from the existing and new Corporate bank client base and Open Market activity. The Key Accounts BDM will network with stakeholders both externally and internally and be the driving force for new business recruitment to Barclays Payments with clients in excess of a business turnover of £50m.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach to hybrid working meaning that colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area.
For this specific role, the onsite working requirement is one day a week, which is a role-based exception due to the requirements of the role. What will you be doing?


• Creating and building long term profitable relationships with our key customers, ensuring income targets are exceeded

• Being the customer advocate within Barclaycard. Driving the customer agenda, shaping and developing our future products and innovations

• Working with key external and internal stakeholders. Making certain that all relationships are built on expertise and trust

• Leading as a voice of expertise with our customers by seeing the world of payments through their eyes

• Demonstrating a forward thinking approach and ownership for all customer needs, requiring the ability to manage demanding requirements and priorities

• Driving Open Market new client engagement

• Working with Corporate bank colleagues referring existing payments clients to the bank and working on key LTP targets

• Engaging with key functions and senior colleagues, driving collaboration across Barclaycard and wider group to increase revenue and benefit customer experience


What we're looking for:


• A proven Account / Business Development track record and consistently exceeding targets

• An excellent communicator and ability to build solid networks quickly at all levels

• Excellent knowledge of the Payments Industry and associated drivers and dynamics

• Ability to drive P&L and articulate relevant drivers

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Payment industry knowledge

• Proven Open Market Business Development track record

• Ability to communicate at all levels – external and internal stakeholders

• Solid grasp of P&L drivers

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
