We have a highly rewarding opportunity within the Community Learning Disability and Autism Team where you will provide professional support, leadership and line management assisting the team to promote the independence, inclusion and well-being of all adults with a learning disability enabling them to have control over their lives and ensure we comply with the Luton Council and Safeguarding Adults Boards policies and procedures.


The multi-disciplinary team consists of Community Learning Disability Nurses, Social Workers, and Social Care Assessors, our range of involvement includes care management, transitions, safeguarding and mental health as well as enabling people to gain independent skills and meaningful employment.

We are currently undertaking a number of exciting strengths based approach projects including personal technology, connecting people and asset based community development.


In this vital role, you will provide leadership on risk and safeguarding and professional social work matters and to promote personalised care pathways ensuring choice and control for all eligible individuals.


You will be expected to work with others to influence and shape the local environment, to promote social inclusion and accessibility and ensure that identified needs are understood individually, by locality and fed into strategic commissioning.


About you:


We need someone who can successfully motivate and build a team consistently to achieve and exceed personal and team objectives.


You will have the opportunity to develop on your already existing in depth knowledge and understanding of Social Care legislation and regulations.

This would include personalisation, eligibility criteria, rehabilitation and reablement, Safeguarding and MCA, DOLS, Multi-disciplinary complex case work, CQC Care Standards and personal technology.


We do ask that you have a degree or equivalent Social Work qualification, registered with professional body and demonstrable commitment to professional development.
