Given recent and forecasted growth, an amazing opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to join a world leading engineering contractor, who thrives in solving the most complex nuclear and Defence safety problems.
You will be responsible for all safety case support, shaping nuclear safety case strategies, undertaking safety assessments and analysis, and producing safety reports among other responsibilities.
Whilst your office base will be in Bristol, Manchester, Aldershot, Silchester or Glasgow, flexibility in work location is a must from time to time our clients do call on our team to deliver work from their sites.
As a Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer, your role will entail you to provide safety case support throughout the design life of a facility and or operation by mentoring others within a technical capacity, assist in the production of bids and proposals to aid business growth and implement and contribute to safety initiatives.
You will support our clients in managing nuclear safety and ensuring compliance with Licence Conditions and/or Authorisation Condition.- Qualitative and Quantitative Hazard Analysis Assessments.
- Safety Case Report production (e.g., Liaison with regulatory organisations (e.g., Development and review of Safety Management Arrangements.
- Managing/Leading Safety Case activities and teams.
- Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline (2:1 minimum).
- Technical practitioner in the Nuclear/Defence domains, able to demonstrate good engineering judgement with experience in applying fundamental engineering principles.
- Excellent written skills, and an eye for detail that means you can produce and review high-quality technical reports.
- Demonstratable evidence of being a leader of technical teams and development of more junior staff.
- Motivated and driven to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality.
- Awareness of their own technical limitations and using the help and support of others to deliver.
