Senior Health and Safety Advisor

£55,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

Irwin and Colton, a specialist Health and Safety recruitment company, is seeking a highly experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, with a focus on ensuring the safe delivery of major capital works projects within the water utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting regular audits, inspections, and accident investigations to identify areas for improvement and development in health and safety performance
  • Staying up-to-date with key changes to legislation and ensuring compliance across the organization
  • Engaging with senior managers, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure responsibilities are met and health and safety objectives are achieved
  • Collaborating with staff and contractors to promote health and safety awareness and support the delivery of objectives and targets

Requirements

  • A NEBOSH Certificate and ideally Tech IOSH status
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A strong technical knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within utilities (preferably water) or civil engineering
