Job Title: Senior Health and Safety Advisor

Location: Gateshead | Salary: £55,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

Irwin and Colton, a specialist Health and Safety recruitment company, is seeking an experienced Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe delivery of major capital works projects within the water utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular audits, inspections, and accident investigations to identify areas for improvement in health and safety performance
  • Staying up-to-date with key changes to legislation and ensuring compliance across the organization
  • Engaging with managers, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure responsibilities are met
  • Collaborating with staff and contractors to promote health and safety awareness and support the delivery of objectives and targets

Requirements:

  • A NEBOSH Certificate and ideally Tech IOSH status
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A strong technical knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within utilities (preferably water) or civil engineering
