As the
Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing the payroll process to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

This position will see you managing the Payroll Process from start to finish, ensuring the workforce are paid on-time and accurately every month.


The successful
Payroll Specialist will ideally have proven experience in payroll software (Dayforce desirable) but experience in a similar software is also accepted.


Responsibilities of the
Payroll Specialist:

  • To administer and run the monthly payroll for the two UK sites.
  • Assisting with the transition of payroll to an internal HR system. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work with a growing business and be part of the integration team for the new software. This will involve attending regular project meetings to ensure a smooth transition.
  • To have experience with payroll taxes and other deductions
  • A new salarysacrifice style pension scheme was recently introduced so the role will involve the administration of this, plus resolving queries etc.
  • Assist with employee payroll and tax queries, consulting with HMRC where needed
  • Coordinate and produce the month end payroll journals and input to the accounting system (currently QuickBooks).
  • Produce reports and assist the Financial Controller in monthly payroll reconciliations and queries
  • Work closely with HR to gather overtime and absence information to input into the monthly payroll calculations
  • Record any anomalies, work proactively to resolve, and improve internal processes
  • Ensure that our payroll systems, reports, and process are fully compliant and inline with any legislation changes that occur
  • Assist with administrating and processing employee expenses and benefits
  • Assist with contractors' administration and payment
  • Assist with Accounts queries from suppliers and cover for the Accounts Payable department

The required education/experience for the Payroll Specialist:

  • Personal confidence, self-belief, and determination to succeed
  • A recognised payroll qualification would be beneficial
  • 3 years+ of payroll experience
  • Good numeracy skills with attention to numerical detail
  • Basic IT skills, although training on internal systems will be provided
  • Methodical with an eye for detail
  • Confident approach to communication both written and oral
  • Able to fit in and work in a small team
  • Flexible attitude with the ability to work across finance roles

Hours:
Monday - Friday: 08.00am -17.00pm
