Charles River places a strong emphasis on training. New hires are flown to Charles River's headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts (USA) at the start of their employment for a comprehensive 3-week training program known as Charles River University, covering product, technical, and company aspects. This training marks the initial phase of Charles River product certifications.

Responsibilities:

Offering application support for the Charles River IMS within a team through e-mail, telephone, and WebExIdentifying client needs, developing solutions, submitting product enhancement requests, and proposing workarounds when necessaryExpanding knowledge of the product, business, and industry through various exposures, staying updated on new features, attending relevant internal training sessions, and pursuing personal development opportunities (e.g. CISI certifications sponsored by Charles River)Utilizing all available resources for investigations: self-expertise, system documentation, knowledgebase, product specialists, implementation consultants, and product engineersProviding best practice advice, designing solutions, and offering guidance to clients and colleaguesTaking charge of both technical and functional inquiriesProactively managing client cases to ensure high customer satisfaction levelsSetting and managing client expectationsElevating significant issues to the line manager when necessaryCollaborating with the product engineering team to outline software enhancement requests and document potential defects

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required:

Business/Personal:

Essential:

University degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, or possibly Computer Science/EngineeringFamiliarity with the investment industry from a buy-side perspective, particularly financial instruments and workflows. Knowledge of key players and trends is a plusMotivated to enhance personal knowledgeExperience in engaging with users or clients from both business and technical standpointsAbility to perform well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectivelyStrong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-driven and demonstrates initiativeReady to take ownership of issues until resolutionEnjoys solving complex problems and conducting investigations

Highly Desirable:

Prior exposure to Order Management Systems (OMS)Previous experience in application support within the Front Office or buy-sideFinancial certification such as CFA L1 or higher, IMC, Claritas Investment Certificate, or CISI Investment Operations CertificateGeneral understanding of financial services technologies encompassing integration, development, and data managementExperience in supporting a SaaS delivery modelFluency in a second European language

Technical:

Essential:

Experience with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server or OracleBasic proficiency in SQL at a Beginner-level

Desirable:

Intermediate to Advanced-level proficiency in SQLExperience in addressing complex application problemsPast exposure to any scripting or coding language like Java, C#, Python, Perl, C++, or VBA
