Nelson, United Kingdom Marsden Building Society Full time

If you possess diverse technical expertise, have led IT projects, and aim to advance your career in collaboration with a highly experienced Head of IT; or if you are a technical coordinator aspiring to oversee IT projects while remaining hands-on, then this position could be ideal for you.

We are in search of an IT Technical Project Lead to assist in the successful completion of multiple IT projects at Marsden Building Society.

Under the direct supervision of the Head of IT, this presents an exciting opportunity for a technical project specialist to further refine their skills.

Collaborating with key stakeholders across the Society and external suppliers to ensure seamless project execution, adherence to timelines, and appropriateness; the IT Technical Project Lead should possess exceptional communication abilities and the knack to simplify technical jargon for operational teams.

By applying an analytical problem-solving approach, the chosen candidate will conduct business analysis to comprehend IT project requirements and deliverables, creating project blueprints, schedules, and a recommended strategy with guidance from the Head of IT.

What we're seeking in our IT Technical Project Lead:
  • Recent practical experience supporting IT infrastructure such as computer networks, network management, and telephony systems.
  • A solid understanding of information analysis, computer hardware, software, and cybersecurity solutions.
  • Familiarity with project management procedures encompassing the development of documents like business proposals, project plans, and related paperwork.
Responsibilities as our IT Technical Project Lead:
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders within the Society to ensure seamless IT project operations, meeting deadlines, and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Conduct business analysis to grasp the requirements and outcomes of IT projects, leveraging this data to formulate project blueprints, schedules, and recommended strategies.
  • Effectively relay project progress to stakeholders and maintain expectations throughout IT project cycles.
  • Identify and address project risks, showcasing adept problems-solving capacities.
  • Develop IT project plans and relevant documentation, incorporating considerations for business impact assessments, necessities, and crucial deliverables.
  • Implement hands-on technical changes for specific project deliverables, oversee third-party modifications, and conduct necessary tests.
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, Firewalls, Switching, and Wireless technologies.
  • Prior experience in the Financial Services industry is advantageous but not mandatory.

We welcome applications from individuals in other sectors showcasing a diverse range of technical competencies and a passion for project management.

What's in store for you as our IT Technical Project Lead?
Ranked exceptional for employee engagement (Best Companies 2023), we are a forward-thinking organization that values uniqueness and inclusivity.

We are proud participants of the Women in Finance Charter and boast a 55% female Senior Management Team.

We are a certified Living Wage Employer and operate with a sense of purpose.

In 2022, we established our Charitable Foundation, persistently seeking ways to better serve our communities.

This role is advertised as full-time, yet we are open to applicants interested in job-sharing or part-time arrangements.

While the successful candidate will need to be present at our Nelson Head Office for 30% of their workweek, we embrace hybrid work setups and are not confined by location.

Prioritizing hiring individuals who resonate with our values and demonstrate the essential skills for this role is more crucial than strict work schedules or geographical proximity.

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer an appealing benefits package, including ample annual leave, a contributory pension scheme (with 10% employer input), life insurance, health coverage, and discounted memberships.

If this resonates with you and you believe you are the right fit for this role, we encourage you to submit your application through our website's careers page.

Please be aware that we are not engaging with recruitment agencies at this time and prefer direct engagement with candidates.
