Cardiac Rehabilitation Sports Specialist

The Cardiac Rehabilitation department works closely with other allied health professionals within the acute Trust to provide an holistic approach to patients having cardiac rehabilitation post heart surgery, heart attack and cardiac events and assist in providing a smooth transition between acute and community settings.
The department operates Monday to Friday 8am- 4pm.
Surgical patients following coronary artery bypass graft, and valve replacements, percutaneous coronary intervention, myocardial infarction, heart failure, unstable angina and pre surgical intervention patients.
We are looking for a dynamic sports specialist who is ready for the challenge of helping us deliver new and improved service.
We are adapting and growing in size in order to meet the increasing demand for cardiac rehabilitation and to meet the NICE recommendation of increased uptake for cardiac rehab to 85% by 2028.

we are National audit of cardiac rehabilitation accredited and are continuously working towards improvements in the service.- To plan and deliver physical activity programmes for patients with angina, myocardial infarction, pre and post cardiac surgery, heart failure and Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
- initiate, develop and evaluate the physical component of the cardiac rehabilitation programmes
- work alongside the specialist nursing team, physiotherapist and service users in supporting patients to achieve their tailor made person centred goals reviewing and adjusting as required
- accurately record and document the delivery of care
- to effectively plan, priorotise and manage their own workload
- to contribute to the development of local protocols and pathways
