We are currently seeking a detail orientated person to join the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) team in the role of Head of Cost Management


The Head of Cost Management is part of the Chief Administrative Office who sit within the Chief Operating Office and support Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB), Commercial Banking (CMB), Entity Chief Operations Officer and other parts of the Entity with an extremely broad range of complex, BAU and strategic initiatives.


_The tasks include, but are not limited to:_

  • Oversight on Direct and Indirect costs for both WPB, CMB, COO and some parts of the Entity being able to articulate the costs in a clear story, translating complex information in a simple, and meaningful way.
  • Setting up and ongoing management of 'Cost Management Units' to work with accountable stakeholders on specific cost lines on a monthly basis.
  • Dealing with detailed financial MI, often in a raw format, analysing this data and translating key information and trends to key stakeholders across the business.
  • Supporting the delivery of the annual Financial Resource Plan (FRP) process and the monthly forecast exercise, leading on costs for both.
  • Monthly review and challenge of IT Associated costs (CAMs) amongst other indirect costs
  • Delivering accurate reporting to various WPB, CMB, Country, Regional and Group governance forums.
  • Responding to Ad Hoc and often urgent requests from senior stakeholders on potential cost challenges and/or opportunities
  • Supporting the wider team within CAO on varied tasks that sit outside of Cost Management to support the collective delivery of the team at large

In this role, you will:

  • Own numerous initiatives, including cost and FTE management, to enable CIIOM WPB & CMB to operate efficiently.
  • Have a willingness to support the wider CAO team
  • Balance priorities to ensure delivery of tasks whilst managing relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Be proactive with fresh ideas, whether internal or external best practice.
  • Find the best solution to complex problems and deliver within tight timescales, engaging with, and securing the support of internal stakeholders.
